Description
The Tarch Shield has its roots in the XIII century, with the name believed to come from the Arabic word daraka (“to overtake”) or the Italian phrase tergum tauricum (“the skin of a bull”). By the end of the XIV century, its shape had evolved from simple round and oval designs to the more iconic triangular form.
This historically inspired tarch shield is built to provide mobility and protection, making it an excellent option for both novice fighters and experienced knights. Weighing only 2.5 kg, it allows you to run, dodge, and parry strikes without sacrificing defense.
Crafted from thick wood, reinforced with canvas and leather edging, the shield is tough enough to endure intense HMB competitions, buhurts, and reenactments while keeping historical authenticity intact.
